About the Michigan Masonic Home

Founded in 1891 in East Grand Rapids, Michigan, the Michigan Masonic Home relocated to Alma and opened to residents in 1911. Since then, the staff and residents of Michigan Masonic Home communities have been active members of Gratiot County’s vibrant community. Residents enjoy many on-campus amenities such as an outdoor putting green, shuffleboard courts, coffee shop, computer labs and wireless internet, and a daily activity and events calendar that changes regularly.

Many on-campus services are also available to both independent and assisted living residents as well as nursing residents such as a barber and beauty shop, gift shop, and pharmacy. Onsite medical and specialty clinics bring primary care, eye and dental care, and a myriad of other health care services right to you.

Assistance Where You Need It

All Michigan Masonic Home communities support Equal Housing Opportunities. Residents need not be affiliated with the Masonic fraternity. The Michigan Masonic Home also accepts Medicare and Medicaid programs as ways to support your stay at one of our life plan communities.

However, for current Michigan Masons with ten or more years of continuous membership, or their wives, widows and mothers, and current female members of a Michigan chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star with ten or more years of continuous membership, they receive discounted rates and priority on any external waiting lists.

The Michigan Masonic Home offers several programs to help support our Masonic families. These special membership benefits, the Masonic Advantage (for financial assistance) and Live Better Drug Discount (for prescription discounts) programs, were designed for Masons in leading healthier lives. For those who have Masonic affiliations but cannot relocate to any of the Michigan Masonic Home communities, we also offer Outside Relief assistance to Brothers and Sisters.
