Michigan Masons Announce 2008 Detroit Tigers Radio Sponsorship
Tuesday April 01, 2008

For the third year in a row, the Michigan Masons are sponsors of the Detroit Tigers radio broadcasts. Overall, the Michigan Masons are strong supporters of the Detroit area. A great percentage of members reside in southeastern Michigan and spend countless hours volunteering to better neighborhoods, churches, and schools. And of course, Michigan Masons are passionate fans of the Detroit Tigers, Red Wings and Pistons. Each year they proudly invest in various sports radio sponsorships programs. The current Detroit Tigers radio sponsorship includes “Strikeouts for Charity” where $25 for each strikeout by a starting pitcher is donated to one of the following Michigan Masons’ Charitable Programs: 1) Michigan Masonic Model Student Assistance Program. Designed to help teachers and schools identify “at-risk” students or kids who may be suffering from substance abuse. Because Masons want to invest in training stronger teachers. 2) The Beacon Project. This effort provides more than 200,000 volunteer hours to Michigan schools to improve the experience and educational opportunities for students. Because Masons care about investing in kids. 3) Scholarship and Matching Community Grants. This funding makes it possible for hundreds of students to make their dreams of going to college a reality and provides financial support to Lodges as they help to strengthen community charities. Because Masons believe in investing in a brighter future for our students. 4) Michigan Child ID Program. This free event provides parents with one of the most comprehensive child recovery and identification kits in the nation and includes child safety education. Since the program began, more than 25,000 children have participated and received kits. Because Masons believe in investing in a safer world. Michigan Masons are focused on the pursuit of excellence and helping a man to live better – in whatever way is relevant to his life. From becoming a better father to building a successful career to making a difference in the world, being a Michigan Mason is a great way to interact with men from all walks of life while achieving your personal goals.
