The Brighton area Masons from Brighton Lodge # 247 donated $8,000.00 to the library to purchase a Kurzweil 3000, a reader computer software and early literacy kits.
Ed Rutkowski, assistant library director said the Kurzweil 3000 scans text and reads it aloud. It also highlights the words as it reads them. The Brighton library is the only one in the oucnty to have this special software.
"We're absolutely delighted," said Mr. Rutkowski.
The program helps people that have reading disabilities, such as dyslexia. it also is a great help to people that are learning English as a second language.
